Channel Letters
Visible by day, luminous at night — channel letters give a sign great depth and precision.

Jaguar Sign fabricates face-lit channel letters for sign shops and resellers: acrylic or PC faces on metal returns, lit by 12V/24V LEDs, for direct-to-fascia or raceway mounting. Send artwork and wall dimensions and we return a design and proposal within 2–3 business days.
Channel letter signs — also called illuminated channel letters or LED channel letters — are built one letter at a time, custom fabricated from metal and plastic, so the sign reads by day and glows at night.
Face-lit channel letters: how they're built
Front-lit channel letters are hollow metal letters — 304 stainless steel, aluminum, brass, galvanized or mild steel — closed by a translucent acrylic or polycarbonate face. Light comes from inside: LED strip in smaller letters, LED modules in larger ones, against a reflective white interior so the face lights evenly.
Letters run deeper as they get taller, from 4–5cm under 30cm high to 8–20cm over a meter, so the light source sits far enough back to spread. Standard letters go to 1–2m; larger ones are built around an internal keel frame.
Mounting: direct-to-fascia or on a raceway
Channel letters may be installed directly to the building fascia, with each letter mounted individually, or on a raceway — a pre-fabricated metal box that runs the length of the sign and is mounted to the fascia. Your installation type may be determined by city ordinance or the building owner's sign criteria.
Either way, letters fix to concrete, structural beams or columns, not to hollow brick, block, insulation or render alone. Letters on tall buildings mount to a support frame and need structural drawings and wind-load calculations from the local engineer.
Which illuminated letter? Face-lit, halo, acrylic or vacuum-formed
An illuminated letter sign can be lit four ways. Face-lit channel letters shine through the front and are the standard for storefronts and facades. Halo-lit or reverse channel letters throw light back onto the wall from letters set 3–5cm off it. Solid acrylic letters are cut from cast acrylic for interiors and fine strokes down to 1mm. Vacuum-formed letters use a molded face, which suits a logo repeated across many locations.
Where channel letters are used
Face-lit channel letters are the usual build for storefront signs — fascia and facade letters on shops, restaurants and salons — and for building signs, from an office entrance to letters at roof level.
Wholesale channel letters for sign shops
We build to your drawings or your client's artwork. Standard letters up to 2m are produced in 7–15 days and larger ones in 15–25 days; overseas orders ship in factory-built timber crates, ready for your installer. More on how we work for sign companies and resellers.

Larger letters run deeper so the light source sits far enough back to spread evenly. Smaller letters use LED strip, larger ones use modules, and a letter-shaped board gives the most even result for premium and chain work.
Letters fix to concrete shear walls, load-bearing beams or columns. Never to hollow brick, aerated block, insulation layers or render alone — these fail over time and present a serious safety risk. Old or cavity walls are reinforced first with pre-embedded steel plate or box-section framing.
Large letters need an internal keel frame fixed back to the structure. High-rise letters mount to a support backing frame and require structural drawings, wind-load calculations and electrical schematics.

Face & lighting combinations
The face color and the light color are separate choices. A white face reads neutral by day and takes whichever light color you specify; a colored face keeps its color lit and unlit.

05Questions
2 items
Can channel letters be made to match our exact brand fonts and shapes?
In principle, yes — we check stroke width, scale, and the finished effect against what the chosen material, fabrication method, and installation environment can safely support. If an exact match isn't feasible as designed, we'll work through practical alternatives, like widening a stroke that's too thin to illuminate or splicing an oversized letter, while staying as close to the original design as possible. Safety always takes priority.
What wall-mounting and electrical requirements should we plan for?
Letters should anchor to concrete shear walls, structural beams, or columns — never to hollow brick, aerated block, insulation, or a coating layer alone, which fails over time. Large letters need an internal support frame, and letters on tall buildings require a backing structure plus supporting documentation (structural drawings, wind-load calculations, electrical schematics). Power runs on low-voltage 12V or 24V through a weatherproof supply with ground-fault protection, sized at 1.3× the actual load, and routed through PVC or metal conduit rather than exposed wire.
